K8 Hardy (b. 1977, Fort Worth) lives and works in New York. K8 Hardy’s work, ranging from photography, video, performance, and sculpture, critiques gender politics, queer identity, fashion, and star power. She is a founding member of the queer feminist zine and artist collective LTTR.

Positions Series: Form 21 is from her Position Series: an ongoing series of photographic self-portraits that present the artist as a diverse cast of eccentric characters. Like her predecessor Cindy Sherman, Hardy uses her own body to question the role of one’s exterior presentation to their personal identity and what this says about our culture. “Persona is a reaction to patriarchy,” she writes.
